Heffernan sits out Rovers' run-in

The 27-year-old has helped Rovers secure safety in their first season in the Championship with 10 goals from 19 starts but will miss their remaining fixtures to have a cartilage operation.[LNB]Midfielder Mark Wilson will also sit out the final couple of games with a torn calf, joining Heffernan, James O'Connor, Brian Stock and James Coppinger in the treatment room.[LNB]"Paul has had a bit of a problem for a while," manager Sean O'Driscoll told the Doncaster Free Press. "He's going in to have the operation straight away now that we know we will be playing Championship football again next season.[LNB]"Mark Wilson will also miss the last two matches with a torn calf muscle."[LNB]With Heffernan ruled out it could force O'Driscoll to name a youthful strike force against Crystal Palace on Saturday, with teenagers Waide Fairhurst and Kazenga LuaLua set to start.[LNB][LNB]
