Friend misses Derby date

Doncaster will be without George Friend and Shelton Martis for the home game with Derby, while another defender, James O'Connor, is doubtful. Friend is waiting for a specialist's report after damaging knee ligaments during the first half of Saturday's win at Scunthorpe and Martis suffered a recurrence of his groin strain after returning to full training last week. Full-back O'Connor is nursing a tight hamstring and with fellow defenders James Chambers and Wayne Thomas (both knee) still sidelined, manager Sean O'Driscoll is running out of options at the back. Centre-half Adam Lockwood is struggling with a swollen toe, but will play, while Sam Hird and Byron Webster are both in contention to fill in for Friend. O'Driscoll's side, chasing back-to-back league wins for the first time this season, could climb back into the top six if results go their way.
