Doncaster defensive duo James Chambers and Wayne Thomas are nearing a return to first-team duty following injury. Chambers, 29, has not featured for Sean O'Driscoll's side since the 1-1 draw with Ipswich on April, 17th due to a knee problem where as 31-year-old Thomas, who has been missing with a similar complaint, was last involved as part of the team in the heavy 4-0 defeat at Cardiff on August, 21. Rovers assistant manager Richard O'Kelly says the pair were not fit enough to take their place on the bench against Sheffield United on Saturday but could by involved in some way for the trip to Reading at the weekend. He told the Sheffield Star: "If they get a full week of training under their belts, they have got a great chance of being involved in some shape or form at Reading. "They are quality players and they will enhance what we have already got at the football club so it will be great to have them back out on the pitch."
