Rovers checking on duo

Doncaster will check on Reece Wabara and Richie Wellens ahead of the visit of Nottingham Forest.

On-loan defender Wabara and midfielder Wellens are both nursing knocks following the midweek defeat at Watford and have been rated at 50/50 by Rovers boss Paul Dickov to be available on Saturday.

Harry Forrester continued his comeback from injury with two goals for the reserve team on Wednesday evening in a 6-0 defeat of Scunthorpe United and he is not too far away now from entering Dickov's thoughts.

Fellow midfielder Marc De Val Fernandez is running again following his torn medial ligament but it could be three weeks before the former Real Madrid trainee resumes full training. Centre-half Jamie McCombe is making good progress in his recovery from a back fracture.

Kelvin Wilson is an injury concern for Nottingham Forest.

Former Forest defender Wilson, who rejoined the Reds from Celtic this summer, was forced off after only 10 minutes of Tuesday night's 2-2 home draw against Middlesbrough and he will be monitored.

Should Wilson not recover in time then Greg Halford may replace him, as he did against Boro. Meanwhile, Davies may have a difficult decision to make in attack as Matt Derbyshire and Darius Henderson both came off the bench to score in midweek.

Davies is hoping to sign a defensive midfielder on loan in time for him to be included in the squad to face Rovers.
