Jones doubt for Doncaster

Captain Rob Jones is a major doubt for Doncaster ahead of Bournemouth's visit to the Keepmoat Stadium.

Jones was taken to hospital with a badly swollen forehead on Tuesday night following a clash of heads with a Crewe player midway through the first half of Rovers' 2-0 home defeat.

The defender suffered concussion and will continue to be monitored but it is likely that Shelton Martis, who came on as Jones' replacement at centre-half against Alex, will return to the starting line-up.

The same can also be said of David Cotterill who has recovered from his recent calf complaint.

However, fellow winger Kyle Bennett will remain on the sidelines with a knee injury and is not expected to be fit until the end of the month.

Eddie Howe has question marks over the fitness of a number of players as he looks to extend his six-game unbeaten start to his second spell with Bournemouth.

Josh McQuoid, who scored the winning goal against Shrewsbury in midweek, picked up a knock in that victory but should be fit while strikers Wes Thomas and Steve Fletcher are both doubts.

Thomas, who is yet to feature since returning from his loan spell at Portsmouth due to injury, is a big doubt again with his hamstring issue while Fletcher is another possible absentee with a tight calf.

Meanwhile midfielder Richard Hughes took part in training with the first team squad on Thursday for the first time since picking up a hamstring injury in October.

Bournemouth's recent run since Howe's return has seen them move up to 12th in npower League One and they face another in-form side in Dean Saunders' Doncaster.
