Rovers sweating on duo

Doncaster will check on captain Richie Wellens and Abdoulaye Meite ahead of the visit of Bolton.

Both players missed the home defeat to Birmingham on Saturday through injury, Wellens with a foot problem, and their chances of making a return in time for Tuesday night are rated at 50/50 by Rovers boss Paul Dickov.

Gabriel Tamas did some light training on Monday along with fellow centre-half Meite and midfielder Wellens as he steps up his comeback from a fractured cheekbone. It is hoped he will be back in action shortly with the aide of a protective mask.

The likes of defenders Enda Stevens and Liam Wakefield, midfielder Marc De Val Fernandez and striker Theo Robinson will be hoping for recalls should Dickov want to make changes after the defeat to Birmingham.

Bolton will be without Mark Davies.

The Wanderers central midfielder was unavailable for the weekend win over Huddersfield due to a groin strain and, despite training on Saturday morning to raise hopes of his involvement at the Keepmoat Stadium, boss Dougie Freedman will not include him for conditioning reasons.

Loanee Joe Mason will hope his winner against the Terriers will earn him a place in the starting berth - the Cardiff striker has just two games left before he returns to south Wales.

Freedman remains without full-back pairing Marc Tierney (broken leg) and Joe Riley (knee) as well as midfield duo Darren Pratley (shoulder) and Stuart Holden (knee).
