Wellens boost for Rovers

Richie Wellens should be fit for Doncaster's home game against Birmingham.

Wellens has been nursing a foot injury but Rovers boss Paul Dickov expects the midfielder to recover and retain his place in the starting line-up.

Gabriel Tamas has resumed training following surgery on his fractured cheekbone and, with the aid of a protective mask, will come back into the reckoning shortly.

Goalkeeper Sam Johnstone will play the final game of his loan spell but Dickov has had conversations with Manchester United about extending his stay. Meanwhile, James Coppinger, if selected, will make his 400th appearance for the club - becoming only the fourth Rovers player to reach the landmark.

Emyr Huws is an injury doubt for Birmingham.

The on-loan Manchester City midfielder has missed the last two games with a hip problem and will be assessed ahead of the clash.

Young centre-back Tom Thorpe could make his second debut after rejoining the club on a short-term deal from Manchester United last week.

Tom Adeyemi (hamstring) is expected to return to bolster a Blues side just five points above the relegation zone having played a game more than 22nd-placed Barnsley.
