Doncaster Rovers have brought in Sheffield United striker Billy Sharp on a season-long loan. Sharp, 23, joined the Blades in 2007 for £2m but has only managed eight league goals in two years. Having started his career at Bramall Lane it was at Scunthorpe where he made his name, scoring an impressive 56 goals in 95 appearances. Rovers have also extended the loan spell of defender Jason Shackell from Wolves until 1 January. Shackell, 25, has been on loan at the Keepmoat since the first game of the season and was man of the match in Saturday's victory over Cardiff City. He told the club website: "The boss wanted to extend the loan deal and I've enjoyed the last few weeks." Rovers have also signed former Hibernian midfielder Jack Wilson, 19, on a short-term deal.
