Home joy at last for Rovers

Doncaster ended their six-month wait for a home win with a thrilling 3-2 triumph over Chesterfield.

Rovers twice saw two-goal cushions eroded by the vibrant visitors, but held their nerve in a tense finish to secure a much-needed triumph.

Nathan Tyson opened the scoring after six minutes, meeting a superb cross from Reece Wabara to head home.

Kyle Bennett doubled the lead in the 32nd minute. Mere seconds after an angry exchange with team-mate Richie Wellens, he met the midfield ace's cut back to lash home off the underside of the crossbar.

Chesterfield pulled a goal back after 42 minutes when Sam Clucas pounced to poke into an empty net after Romauld Boco's shot had hit the post.

Rovers moved back two goals in front in the 49th minute when Jamie McCombe reacted well to power in from close range.

Chesterfield set up a nervy finish when in-form striker Eoin Doyle grabbed his eighth goal in four games with a tap-in.

Doncaster goalkeeper Jed Steer denied Ian Evatt and watched a dangerous Daniel Johnson shot flyt wide as Rovers held on.
