Davies: Mills deal not looking likely

Forest made a bid in the region of £2million for the centre-half several weeks ago - which remains on the table but is below the Yorkshire club's valuation of the player. With the new Championship season just nine days away Davies insists he will not wait much longer for a decision and said: "We approached Doncaster and tried to do something but at the moment there is a gulf between their valuation and our offer. "Unless that gulf closes very quickly, then I would say it does not look likely. We have made a very good offer and feel the valuation for the player in the current financial situation is first-class. "We can't play a waiting game. We are actively looking at other potential targets in that position, as well as one or two others. "We have to close the door (on deals) very quickly because it is not long before that first big match will be upon us. We want to try to get this squad together as quickly as possible."
