Coppinger is looking for a move to The Blues, according to to a local Ipswich paper, he said:

"With them being in the Championship and an ambitious club, it is always somewhere you would look to go.

"At this stage in my career and life, it wouldn't put me off moving to Suffolk. You just want to play at the highest standard you can for as long as you can."

"It was on the cards last season," admitted Coppinger. "It was a big decision for me, I knew Paul Jewell was interested and I spoke with the chairman - but it wasn't to be.

"I want to be playing at the highest level I can and it is difficult for Doncaster. Now they have been relegated, everything changes and the budgets will get slashed.

"We will have to wait and see. I don't think it will be solely in my hands and I don't think anything is going to get done in the next month or so."

He is one of many on the list of players who will be leaving over the course of the summer.
