Doncaster midfielder James Coppinger has signed a three-year contract extension with the Championship outfit. The 29-year-old joined Doncaster from Exeter in 2004 and the club have rewarded the longest-serving player with a new deal that will see him stay at the Keepmoat until the summer of 2013. The Guisborough-born midfielder has seen the club rise up through the divisions, becoming an integral part of the team, with his finest hour coming when he scored a hat-trick against Southend in the 2008 League One play-offs. Those goals took Rovers to the Wembley final where they saw off Leeds 1-0 to gain promotion.
