Romanian coach Dan Petrescu has been appointed as Russian Premier League side Dynamo Moscow manager, the club reported Saturday.

Reports said that the 44-year-old coach would shortly sign a three-year contract with Dynamo, the only Russian league top-flight side never to have been relegated.

Petrescu, who stepped down from the post of manager of another Premier League club Kuban Krasnodar earlier this week, is still serving a six-match ban for insulting a referee.

He will start his work with Dynamo on August 20, the club officials said.

Petrescu took over Kuban in December 2009, winning promotion to the Premier League in the next year.

In 2010 Petrescu was named Romania's Coach of the Year by his national football federation.
