Derby County striker Emanuel Villa is determined to make a success of his move to England and emulate compatriots Carlos Tevez and Javier Mascherano.
The 25-year-old Argentinian joined the Rams for £2million last month from Mexican outfit Tecos and has scored once in six outings for Paul Jewell's side.
He told the Evening Telegraph: "If you look back, English football's littered with a history of Argentinians who've come over here.
"Look at people like Tevez and Mascherano, who are doing so well now. It still took them a long time to settle in at the beginning. They are perfect examples.
"It's so different from the football in South America, you don't realise how much. I'm giving my absolute best on the pitch and on the training field to make sure it happens as quickly as possible.
"The Premier League is a lot faster. It is so fast and physical compared to South American football. That's the big difference, but I'm learning to adapt styles all the time.
"You only have to look at other examples of players who have taken a good six months to settle in.
"It is not easy to immediately adapt, as English football is so different to what I have been used to."
