The Damned United on TV tonight

If you need your Rams fix, don't forget there is the TV film adapted from the book,'The damned United' on this evening, which features Brian Clough and the Rams side of the 1970's

Well the season has finished with the Rams finishing tenth in the Championship but if you need your Rams fix you can always watch ‘The Damned United’ on TV this evening. BBC4 will be screening the controversial film featuring Brian Clough, Peter Taylor and the Rams side of the 1970’s at 9.00pm tonight, Thursday 16th May.

The film, if you didn’t know is taken from a book written by David Peace and features Michael Sheen as the irrepressible Brian Clough and features around the circumstances that culminated in the 44 days Clough had in charge of Leeds United.

Timothy Spall plays the part of Peter Taylor, with Colm Meaney as Don Revie, Jim Broadbent as Derby County Chairman Sam Longson and Stephen Graham and Leeds Captain Billy Bremner.

The football action meant to be at the Baseball Ground was actually filmed at Saltergate the former home of Chesterfield FC. Scenes around Elland Road, the home of Leeds United were recreated by turning a carpark near the stadium into the training ground, with thousands of tons of soil covering over the tarmac surface.

This film is a gripping insight into what 'may' have taken place behind closed doors at Derby County and Leeds United before Brian Clough left for the infamous 44 days in charge at Leeds...
