Savage told to knuckle down

Derby County manager Paul Jewell has admitted to being unhappy with Robbie Savage's attitude during pre-season training. The Rams midfielder was linked with a Pride Park exit last month after being left out of the squad for a couple of pre-season friendlies. Jewell told the Evening Telegraph: "Robbie wasn't happy about not being first choice in the team. "But I wasn't particularly happy the way he reacted in training so, like every other player, no different, if you don't want to do your best at training, aren't prepared to knuckle down, you won't be considered. "If Robbie comes back Monday morning and knuckles down, he'll be considered like everybody else, no different to any other player at Derby County."
