Ruben closes on Rams debut

Summer signing Ruben Zadkovich is closing in on making his debut for Derby County after continuing his comeback from injury for the club's reserves.

The 22-year-old Australia international was confirmed as a Rams player at the beginning of the summer but has spent the last five months on the sidelines following hernia surgery.

The versatile right-sided player featured in a reserve cup tie at Walsall earlier this week.

"I now want to get as much game time as I can and I want to train hard to get back to full fitness," he told the club's official website.

"It was obviously hard work as it was my first game after being out for a while but it was good to get out there."
