Derby County manager Nigel Clough has snapped up Manchester City's promising youngster Javan Vidal on loan until the end of the season.
The 20-year-old has not made a first-team appearance for City although he did feature in 14 matches for Aberdeen during a loan spell at Pittodrie last season and played four games for Grimsby Town during a temporary move to Blundell Park almost 18 months ago.
"Javan's a very talented young player and we're grateful to Manchester City for allowing him to come here until the end of the season," said Clough.
"He has all the attributes to be a top professional and is comfortable playing at right back or right midfield.
"It gives us quality cover in a couple of positions and we believe he'll fit right in with the mentality and culture we're looking to introduce to our squad."
