Derby County manager Paul Jewell has made the Australia international Mile Sterjovski his sixth signing of the month.
The 28-year-old midfielder was granted a work permit at a Home Office appeal on Wednesday and will now move to the Rams from Turkish side Genclerbirligi for an undisclosed fee.
Jewell told County's official website: "I'm delighted with the decision, although we always felt we had a strong case.
"Mile is an international player with Champions League and World Cup experience. He will make a fantastic addition to the squad."
Sterjovski made his name as a striker at Sydney United and went on to star for Parramatta Power, Lille and FC Basel before joining Genclerbirligi last summer.
He has represented his country on 33 occasions and played in three of Australia's four games at the 2006 World Cup Finals.
The Wollongong-born player made his international debut in November 2000 in a 2-0 friendly win against Scotland and grabbed a hat-trick for the Socceroos in a 9-0 victory over Tahiti in May 2004.
