Rams rocked by Davies blow

Derby County striker Steve Davies faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines after suffering a fractured eye socket during the 2-1 victory against Plymouth Argyle.

The 20-year-old had to be taken to hospital after being replaced by Kris Commons and is facing three months out of action.

Rams boss Paul Jewell said: "It's a big blow for us.

"He played really well against Norwich, scored his goal against Birmingham and it's a blow for him."

Saturday's game was only the fourth County start for the former Tranmere Rovers youngster.
