Rams lose injured Davies

Derby County forward Steve Davies has been ruled out for the rest of the season after breaking his foot.

Davies, who has already missed almost three months of this season with a fractured eye socket and a hernia, has scored four times this term, appearing mainly as a substitute.

"It's another injury problem we could well do without and is a bitter shame as Steve was just starting to get some regular first-team football under his belt, which we believe he was benefiting from," said manager Nigel Clough.

"He will have his op and then need to concentrate hard on getting himself right for the start of pre-season training; just like Miles Addison and Paul Green, who have had similar injuries."
