Derby County boss Billy Davies is hopeful of having Kenny Miller available to face Aston Villa on Saturday.
The Scotland striker was replaced midway through last weekend's defeat by Everton with a hamstring problem, but Davies believes his £3million summer signing will be fit to face Villa.
Miller has scored twice in six appearances since joining the Rams from Celtic.
"It doesn't look like the injury is as bad as we first thought so we're hoping we can get him ready for the weekend," Davies told the club's official website.
Meanwhile, Davies has revealed that injured defender Andy Todd has been sent to see a specialist in a bid to overcome back and hamstring problems that have kept him sidelined since the beginning of September.
"We've had a specialist up from London to take a look at Andy," confirmed Davies.
"He's trained but he's still not feeling comfortable at the moment."
