Derby County have continued preparing for life in the Premier League by appointing Trevor Birch as their new chief executive.
Birch, who held similar roles at Chelsea, Leeds United and Everton, will replace Mike Horton on the Rams board after the former managing director stepped down last week.
"I'm delighted to have been given the opportunity to join Derby at such an exciting time in its history," he told the club's official website.
"I very much look forward to playing my role in moving the club forward and helping the manager and board of directors fulfill their ambition in realising the club's true potential."
Rams chairman Peter Gadsby added: "Trevor earned a great reputation when he was last in the game and we're delighted that someone with his experience and understanding of football in general - and the Premiership in particular - has agreed to join us on the board of directors."
