Teenage defender Lewin Nyatanga has signed a deal that will keep him at Derby County until June 2008.
The 17-year-old, who has played in the Rams' last six games, is very pleased with the contract he signed before the Boxing Day draw with Luton Town.
He told the Derby Evening Telegraph: "To sign a new contract is a great feeling.
"I've been at the club from the age of eight and I cannot see myself playing for anyone else. It has been a whirlwind few months and a fantastic experience.
"When I signed on my birthday [in August] I was just concentrating on working hard and trying to improve as a player.
"Now I've signed another deal so soon afterwards and I have been playing in the first team. I feel I now have more to prove and will continue to work as hard as I possibly can."
