Derby County manager Paul Jewell has admitted that Egypt international Hossam Ghaly will not be returning to Pride Park next season.
The 26-year-old midfielder played 16 games for the Rams in the campaign just ended after joining the club from Tottenham on loan in January.
"Hossam had a really good spell for us, but when I spoke to him he said he'd like to stay in the Premiership," Jewell told the Derby Evening Telegraph.
"However, he said that if he couldn't find anything in the Premier League, he'd come to Derby
"But Hossam has played his last game for us now, I think, and we'll be looking elsewhere."
Meanwhile, Jewell fears that Giles Barnes will not be fully-fit until October. The 19-year-old midfielder is making a slow recovery from the serious knee injury he suffered in training three months ago.
