Tyrone Mears has finalised his controversial season-long loan switch from Derby County to Marseille.
The French side also have the chance to sign the full-back on a permanent basis for 1.5million Euros if the loan deal is a success.
Last week furious Rams boss Paul Jewell had blasted the 25-year-old after he flew to Marseille without permission from the club.
"To jump on a plane and go and train with another club without permission is an absolute disgrace and an afront to Derby County and the supporters," said Jewell.
"I've dealt with a lot of things in football but this is incredible.
"Tyrone came to see me at about 4pm on Thursday and I said to him 'are you willing to go on trial and he said no'.
"He's an established player, why should he go on trial? He wouldn't go on trial to a club in this country, something he agreed with."
