Derby County have agreed to let Eddie Lewis leave Pride Park in order to join MLS side LA Galaxy. Lewis, 34, joined the Rams from Leeds United 12 months ago, but was unable to help prevent their slide out of the Premier League. The USA international left the MLS in 2000 to join first Fulham, before moving on to Preston North End and then Leeds. "I strongly believe that Eddie Lewis will be an outstanding addition to the Galaxy," general manager and head coach Bruce Arena told the club's official website. "He brings great experience to the club and will be a wonderful addition to our locker room and is a player that the fans are sure to support. "I have known Eddie for a number of years, I rate him as a first-class player and person and I'm honoured to welcome him to the Galaxy family."
