Jewell tires of Savage talk

Derby County boss Paul Jewell has admitted to being frustrated at being continually asked why veteran midfielder Robbie Savage is not featuring in the Rams first team. The 33-year-old has not featured in the last two games for Jewell's side, but the Derby manager is bothered by the focus surrounding the former Wales international. He told the Evening Telegraph: "Robbie Savage is not the only player not to feature in the last two games. "I knew this would come up because as soon as something happens, Robbie Savage's name pops up. "Robbie Savage was not in the squad on Saturday, Miles Addison has gone ahead of him at the moment. Jay McEveley was not in the squad on Saturday and I can only pick five subs. "There is no issue between me and Robbie Savage or between me and anyone else. "The players who are out of the team think they should be in. That's fine, that is the way we want it, but Sav is no different to anyone else and I don't know how many times I have to keep saying that."
