Jewell takes the positives

Derby County manager Paul Jewell felt that his side had shown some signs of improvement at the weekend, despite suffering a 4-1 thrashing at Manchester United.
The Rams did net their first away league goal of the season and Jewell saw some positives in the display at Old Trafford.
He told the Evening Telegraph: "I feel there has been some improvement. We were unlucky at Sunderland and for 35 minutes or so we did okay at United.
"We also passed it quite well at times in the second half, but we haven't got that cutting edge. United were in control but they were not ripping us apart.
"It was always going to be tough going to United. Obviously I was not pleased with a 4-1 defeat, but I was pleased we scored our first away goal of the season and pleased we showed some determination.
"We didn't throw in the towel. We kept going and we got a goal.
"We have to take the positives into the Middlesbrough game next Saturday. Three points against Middlesbrough is the most important thing.
"Anything we had got against United would have been a bonus, so we look forward to Middlesbrough."
