Jewell keen to offload Rams

Derby County manager Paul Jewell has suggested he needs to offload some players before bringing any more new faces into Pride Park.

Jewell has already told out-of-favour midfielder Robbie Savage that he is free to leave on loan and is keen to further reduce the size of his squad ahead of the January transfer window.

The Rams boss is under pressure following his side's poor start to the new season which has left them languishing towards the foot of the Championship table.

"We're looking to strengthen the squad but if you bring in players into a big squad it can create a log-jam," said Jewell.

"I'm not under financial pressure to get anyone out, but I'd like to let one or two go."
