Irate Jewell slams Attwell

Young referee Stuart Attwell was once again at the centre of controversy after Derby County's 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

Attwell, who awarded the now infamous 'ghost goal' in Watford's 2-2 draw with Reading earlier in the season, was criticised by Rams boss Paul Jewell for disallowing a late 'goal' for his side.

Miles Addison headed home Nacer Barazite's stoppage-time corner only for Attwell to spot an infringement inside the penalty area.

A furious Jewell blasted: "We should have had an experienced Premier League referee in there who could handle the situation.

"It's a great goal. You look and Forest aren't even complaining - one or two hands went up asking for something but it was a goal.

"I've never felt so aggrieved in my life, especially with the meaning of the game and what it means to the supporters, especially after the character we'd shown."
