Derby County's Craig Fagan has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association following an incident involving Alvaro Arbeloa during Saturday's defeat at Liverpool.
The Rams forward appeared to stamp on the calf of the Liverpool defender during their 6-0 thrashing at Anfield and has until 6pm on Wednesday to respond to the charge.
If found guilty, Fagan could be handed a three-match ban which would rule him out of forthcoming Premier League matches against Newcastle United, Arsenal and Bolton Wanderers.
"Referee Alan Wiley has confirmed that he did not see the incident, and that had he done so he would have sent Fagan off," read an FA statement.
"Fagan has until 6pm on Wednesday September 5 to admit or deny the charge, which carries an automatic three-match suspension if proved."
The former Colchester United and Hull City player has featured in all six of Derby's matches so far this season.
