Derby County completed the signing of American teenager Conor Doyle on the eve of the new Championship season.

The 18-year-old impressed in pre-season training with the Rams and has signed a two-year contract at Pride Park.

Manager Nigel Clough told the club's official website: "For a player of just 18 years of age he is very mature and has adapted well to English football.

"It is a big challenge for him and he has made a big decision.

"We're delighted he has put pen-to-paper and look forward to seeing him develop further in the next two seasons."
