Desperate times for Jewell

Derby County boss Paul Jewell is growing desperate for his side to register a league win under his charge, with the Rams propping up the Championship table. Jewell's side play host to Sheffield United this weekend, having failed to register a league victory in their last 36 games. He told the Evening Telegraph: "It's a massive game for us, there's no getting away from that, but we've got to be able to handle it and look forward to the game rather than fear it. "It's a game of football we're desperate to win, no-one more than me, but we can only do our best. "If the players are doing their best and giving me the performance they gave me against Barnsley, I am sure we will turn the corner. "I think it has been just about a year since we have won a league game. That is the situation we are in. "The players, like us all, are embarrassed with the way things have gone. We have taken a lot of flak, but we have to live with that. "We just need this win in the league. We haven't had it, but we will get it and when we get it we will get plenty more."
