Davies' spot of bother

Derby County manager Billy Davies bizarrely blamed referee Clive Oliver for his side's Carling Cup second round exit at the hands of Doncaster Rovers.
The Rams hit back from 3-0 down to take the Belle Vue clash to penalties, but Davies then claims that Mr Oliver hindered his keeper Lee Grant's bid to block Rovers' efforts from the spot.
Davies said afterwards: "Lee is claiming the referee never blew the whistle, this is why we were angry at the end, he is saying he was never ready.
"The referee was saying that he didn't have to blow the whistle, there was a bit of a debate going on.
"That debate plus the back-pass debate, which again the goalkeeper is claiming it wasn't, and (Arturo) Lupoli's sending-off is why we were angry.
"I don't want to sound like sour grapes, but these are the main incidents that I felt were questionable."
