Davies slams bid talk

Derby County boss Billy Davies has slammed reports linking him with a move for Crewe Alexandra's highly-rated midfielder David Vaughan.
Davies, who has also been linked with a swoop for Celtic's Stephen Pearson this week, was mooted to be lining up a £600,000 raid on Crewe for the Wales international.
However, the former Preston chief has dismissed those claims out of hand, while also scotching talk of a bid for Cork City striker Roy O'Donovan.
Davies told the Derby Evening Telegraph: "I can't do anything about such speculation, but I have not spoken to Crewe about their player."
On O'Donovan, he added: "I don't know the player, again it's just speculation."
