Derby County are running the rule over several trialists as manager Billy Davies continues to search for new recruits. Slovakia midfielder Dusan Svento and Cyprus striker Yiannis Okkas both featured in the 1-0 pre-season defeat at Macclesfield Town on Monday evening. Svento is currently on the books of Slavia Prague, while Okkas is a free agent after his contract with Greek side Olympiacos expired. Rams number two David Kelly told the club's official website: "It was good to see them both, they're different types of player. I thought both produced decent performances." Centre-back Dean Leacock missed the reverse at Moss Rose due to a slight calf problem. Kelly added: "We don't want to take any chances. "We've said to the players that if they're feeling anything at all they should let us know and Dean had a tight calf, so it was a precaution to leave him out." Meanwhile, Greek frontman Giorgios Theodoridis and former Leeds United midfielder Salomon Olembe played in the 3-0 win at Burton Albion, with the former among the scorers.
