Commons wants County stay
Kris Commons wants to stay at Derby but the Scotland international insists the decision is out of his hands. The 27-year-old, who moved to Pride Park from East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest in June 2008, is out of contract at the end of the season.Rams boss Nigel Clough recently said that Commons must be more consistent if he is to earn a new deal."If a club wants to keep you then it is sorted out quite quickly, but if they are not sure then it takes a little time," Commons told BBC Radio Derby. "I want to stay and now it is up to me to prove that I am worthy of a new contract."This is one of the best places to play football and we are on the up and moving in the right direction. I want to stay but the decision is not in my hands."[Executive chairman] Tom Glick, manager Nigel Clough and the backroom staff have decisions to make. It needs sorting out and hopefully it will be sooner rather than later."
