Clough targets striker deals

Derby County have extended the loan stay of Leicester City striker DJ Campbell by a further month and are keen to do the same with veteran frontman Paul Dickov.

Campbell has scored once in six games for the Rams, while Dickov, who is also on loan from Leicester, has netted twice in 16 outings.

Boss Nigel Clough told the evening Telegraph: "We're pleased DJ has agreed to stay. He has done a good job for us over the past month and has injected some pace into our frontline.

"We've made it clear to Paul that we'd love him to stay until the end of the season, but I think he's trying to get himself sorted out with Leicester.

"I think, for Paul, the ideal thing would be to do a deal with Leicester for the remaining six months of his contract and then he's free to get the best permanent deal he can.

"He's come in and done well, so I think he's got more options than he had two or three months ago."
