Clough impressed with Rams display

Published: 19 Apr 2011 - 11:00:01

Manager Nigel Clough believes Derby's unbeaten record against Championship leaders QPR this season proves it is not all doom and gloom despite the Rams' lowly league position.Derby held Rangers to a goalless draw at Loftus Road on Monday night in what Clough described as a `brilliant point and brilliant performance.`Back in August, Clough's team drew 2-2 with the West London club, having been 2-0 up going into stoppage time."Two of our best performances have come against QPR and our form against the top six generally has been quite good," said Clough, whose side has recently beaten Swansea and Leeds."You measure yourself against the best team in the league and QPR are the best team in the league. Despite being 19th in the table, we honestly do not feel it is all doom and gloom."We didn't think we were a top-four team when we set out but nor do we believe we are a bottom-four team either. We have been beaten only once in the last six games, which is a good run, and we are just seeing a little bit of a pattern coming back to the team with players who will be around next season."
