Clough admits to Leacock fears

Derby County defender Dean Leacock is unlikely to play again this season because of a groin injury.

The 24-year-old has been sidelined by the problem since November and his absence has added to Nigel Clough's defensive headache.

Miles Addison has already been ruled out for the season with a foot injury while Jay McEveley is currently struggling with a hamstring problem.

When asked whether Leacock would return to action before the end of the season, Clough told the Derby Evening Telegraph: "It's highly unlikely.

"The only way is if we're safe come the last one or two matches of the season, we might get him back on the pitch then but we can't see him featuring in any other circumstances at the moment."
