Derby County boss Paul Jewell has revealed his unhappiness after seeing a protracted move for goalkeeper Roy Carroll hit another snag.
The Rams believed they had finally completed a deal to land the Rangers back-up goalkeeper on Thursday after Carroll agreed to release himself from his Ibrox contract.
However, the former Manchester United and West Ham keeper remains a Rangers player and Jewell has admitted his patience is wearing thin with a deal that he thought had been completed weeks ago.
"I thought it was done this morning," he said on Thursday evening.
"But apparently the red tape and the administration work still needs to be done.
"I don't know what has happened at the minute. I came off the training ground and thought it was done, but now I am being told it is not quite.
"It is dragging on a bit which is annoying for me and more so for Roy. It is a little bit embarrassing for both clubs.
"I thought I would have him two months ago, so until it is done and dusted I would rather not comment.
"We have got other good goalkeepers but I would like to bring Roy in if we can."
