Derby County defender Jake Buxton is set to endure another operation in a bid to overcome his recent injury problems.
The 25-year-old former Mansfield Town and Burton Albion player has not featured in the first team since March because of groin and stomach problems.
He had groin surgery in the summer but complained of discomfort soon after and has been told a further operation will be keep him sidelined until late November.
Rams boss Nigel Clough revealed: "Jake's desperate to be fit again as he's not used to being injured. He'll have an operation this week and will be out for about another four to six weeks.
"We've found that he's got a very localised nerve problem. The specialist can put his finger on the exact spot that is causing the pain so he just needs a bit of corrective surgery on that."
