Barnes set for second scan

Barnes set for second scan

Derby County manager Paul Jewell fears that a knee injury could keep Giles Barnes on the sidelines.

The teenager picked up the problem in training and had a scan last Friday but will be sent to see another specialist this week for a second X-ray.

Rams boss Jewell admitted: "It isn't good news. We're sending him for a second opinion.

"It isn't cruciate ligament damage but until we get a second opinion we'll not know too much more."

West Brom have been linked with a summer move for Barnes while Kenny Miller could be joining Rangers at the end of the season.

Miller joined Derby from Celtic last August in a £2.5million deal and has been one of County's better players in a disastrous season for the club, scoring five times in 24 appearances for the Premier League's bottom club.
