Barnes appeal fails

Derby County's teenage defender Giles Barnes has failed to have his red card from Saturday's win over Sheffield Wednesday overturned.
The FA's Disciplinary Commission rejected the Rams' appeal and Barnes will now serve a three-match ban, missing the games against Southend United, Plymouth Argyle and QPR.
Barnes was dismissed for his challenge on the Owls' Graham Coughlan after coming on as a substitute for the injured Ryan Smith at Hillsborough.
Rams boss Billy Davies had said after the match: "The view of Giles and our dressing room is that it was simply his momentum and nothing more than that.
"On looking at it again, I think that's right. He was only going to retrieve the ball and it was clumsy more than anything else.
"Giles is an enthusiastic young player who is learning. He's not a nasty player."
