Dexter Blackstock was signed by Southampton after going through the Oxford Youth system. He was bought to Southampton's first team in the Carling Cup in 2004 due to the injury of a team member. In that match he scored a hat-trick against Colchester United. He has been loaned to Plymouth Argyle, making 14 appearances for them and scoring 4 goals, as well as Derby County in October 2005 scoring 3 goals in 9 appearances.
