Varney: Rams haven't backed me

The striker was signed by former manager Paul Jewell in November 2008 on a loan deal from Charlton that became permanent in January 2009. He has only made 14 appearances for the Rams and scored just one goal.[LNB]Varney is on loan at Hillsborough, where he has scored nine goals in 32 outings for the Yorkshire club.[LNB]"I feel I've not really been given a chance at Derby," the 27-year-old told the Derby Telegraph. "The manager (Nigel Clough) has sent me out on loan to get game time and score goals, which I've done, but I still can't get in the team when I go back."[LNB]The Leicester-born striker concedes he may be forced to move away from Pride Park to resurrect his career and admits he would relish a move to his hometown club.[LNB]He added: "I suppose I'm in the shop window.
