Savage to quit in the summer

Derby midfielder Robbie Savage has announced he will retire at the end of the season. Savage, 36, began his career on Manchester United's books before moving on to Crewe. He came to prominence at Leicester before having spells with Birmingham and Blackburn and then joining Derby in 2008. He quit international football with Wales in 2005 after winning 39 caps. He wrote on Twitter: "Breaking news, I will retire at the end of the season!" Savage was recently linked with a move to the Vancouver Whitecaps but has also been involved in media work and wrote: "Two TV deals are on the table and a host of radio shows! Good time to go!"
