Savage could stay - Clough

Manager Nigel Clough has not ruled out the possibility of Robbie Savage extending his Derby career beyond this season. County skipper Savage, who turns 36 in October, is in the final year of his contract at Pride Park. Asked if he thought it would be the midfielder`s final campaign before he retires, Clough said: "I don't know. I would never rule out that he could keep going. It would depend on his work in the media and what he wants to do. "He is one of those players who has never been lightning quick but his stamina is tremendous, and I don't think he would lose too much of that over the next 12 months. "So it might depend on the level we are playing at and what he would want to do playing-wise." Savage featured in all 46 of Derby`s Championship games last season and was named player of the year.
