Rovers comeback delights O'Driscoll

Mark Wilson struck the winner 19 minutes from time with a shot from 25 yards out that was misjudged by Rams goalkeeper Stephen Bywater. Robbie Savage put Nigel Clough's side, who had won their previous four Championship games to ease their relegation fears, ahead with a measured free-kick just after half-time. But the former Wales midfielder's first goal for the Rams was cancelled out by Paul Heffernan's third goal in his last four games before Wilson turned the game on its head with his first goal of the season to move Rovers 10 points clear of third-bottom Norwich. O'Driscoll's men suffered their first defeat in nine at Swansea last weekend and the former Bournemouth boss was delighted with the way they responded. He said: "We took some positives from that (Swansea defeat) in a sense, we looked at Swansea and some of the things that they did, we thought we could do better in our game. "I thought we did that today, we were nice and patient, moved it from side to side - which Swansea do very well and on a difficult pitch - against a team that's come here to stifle the game. I thought our application was excellent. "Even when we went a goal down, nobody's heads dropped, we just got on with it and cranked up the pressure a little bit, got a goal back that I thought we deserved anyway and Mark Wilson scored the winner, and I'm so pleased for him because he's the sort of player that every club needs." He added: "In training on Thursday he had many opportunities to score and blasted every one of them over the bar so I was pleased he took the responsibility. "It just bounced nicely for him and I'm pleased for him and I think you can see from the celebrations of the rest of the players they are pleased for him as well." Rams boss Clough was left to rue some sloppy defending from his side and felt Bywater was at fault for Wilson's winner. He said: "It's disappointing to go 1-0 up with 45 minutes to go and not get a minimum of a point but we conceded two poor goals from our point of view. "You get the lead and think, 'hang onto it for five or 10 and frustrate them' but we weren't able to do that due to defensive errors." The former Burton boss added: "It's a harmless shot and Stephen misjudged the bounce, it's 25 yards or 30 yards out and nine times out of 10 he would have saved it."
